Responsibilities
- Enforce municipal codes and state laws with integrity and cultural sensitivity
- Respond to emergency calls and conduct thorough incident investigations
- Collaborate with community stakeholders through outreach programs
- Maintain detailed incident reports using digital record-keeping systems
- Participate in specialized training for crisis intervention techniques
- Conduct regular patrols to deter crime and identify safety hazards
- Testify in judicial proceedings and prepare evidence for prosecution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Valid California POST Basic Academy certification
- Minimum 2 years public sector experience
- CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Pass extensive background investigation and polygraph
- Proficiency in public safety software (CAD/RMS)
- Bilingual Spanish proficiency highly desirable
