Miami-Dade County is urgently seeking a dedicated Public Works Inspector to join our Infrastructure Development team. This critical role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations on public infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections for infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify construction materials and methods meet county specifications and safety standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies
- Enforce compliance with the Miami-Dade County Public Works Manual
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities
- Maintain accurate project documentation and permit records
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Florida Inspector Certification (FICPI or equivalent)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and inspection software (e.g., FieldDoc)
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Code and FDOT standards
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and traverse construction sites
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
