Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public works projects including roads, drainage systems, and utilities
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Investigate citizen complaints and recommend corrective actions for infrastructure concerns
- Assist in the development of construction standards and inspection procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of construction inspection experience
- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Inspector certification preferred
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency in reading construction plans and specifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and local building codes
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk construction sites
