Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects for code compliance
- Review engineering plans and permit applications
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Enforce municipal codes and safety regulations
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public infrastructure
- Maintain accurate records and digital documentation systems
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience
- ICC Certification (Building Inspector or Plans Examiner preferred)
- Valid Kansas driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of municipal codes and construction standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection databases
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
