Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with approved plans and specifications
- Review engineering drawings and technical documentation for accuracy
- Conduct field tests on materials (asphalt, concrete, soils) using calibrated equipment
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards at project sites
- Manage permit documentation and compliance tracking systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience with municipal projects
- Valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License
- ICBO/ICC Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Knowledge of MN DOT and City of Minneapolis construction standards
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
