Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city ordinances, building codes, and safety regulations
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for accuracy and feasibility
- Document findings through detailed reports, photos, and compliance forms
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Issue permits, violation notices, and stop-work orders when necessary
- Test construction materials and soil samples for quality assurance
- Prepare progress reports and maintain inspection records
Qualifications
- California Inspector Certification (CIT or equivalent)
- 5+ years of construction inspection experience in municipal projects
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of California Building Code and OSHA standards
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Valid California Driver's License
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work in field conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
