Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and safety standards
- Review engineering plans, blueprints, and project documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, and city stakeholders
- Investigate complaints related to construction activities and resolve disputes
- Monitor project timelines and progress against established milestones
- Coordinate with other city departments on infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- ICBO Certification or equivalent (preferred)
- Knowledge of FDOT and local construction standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in inspection software and GIS tools
