Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, and paving equipment
- Perform manual labor for road construction, drainage systems, and utility maintenance
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean job sites
- Assist in asphalt/concrete pouring and finishing operations
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance and basic repairs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale municipal projects
- Document daily progress and material usage accurately
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction or public works experience
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery with proven proficiency
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in all weather conditions
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
