Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public construction projects to verify compliance with plans and specifications
- Document findings, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve code violations
- Review construction plans for adherence to safety regulations and municipal standards
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities
- Maintain accurate inspection records using digital reporting systems
- Provide technical guidance to contractors during project execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (Class B)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and construction management software
- Strong knowledge of International Building Codes and Omaha Municipal Codes
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with variable weather conditions
- Must pass background check and drug screening
