Responsibilities
- Execute public infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, drainage systems, and park facilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, backhoes, graders) with precision and safety protocols
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control projects
- Perform landscaping and vegetation management for public spaces
- Collaborate with engineering teams on construction site preparation and cleanup
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventive maintenance
- Adhere to OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Class C California Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience operating heavy machinery (CDL preferred but not required)
- Knowledge of stormwater management best practices
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- High school diploma or equivalent required
