Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Verify construction materials and methods comply with engineering specifications and safety protocols
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Enforce federal, state, and local construction regulations and permit requirements
- Provide technical guidance to construction crews on city standards and best practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in construction technology, engineering, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or field experience
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record
- ICBO or ICC certifications (Certified Building Inspector/Plans Examiner) required
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction specifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and local building codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and traverse construction sites
