Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes, blueprints, and safety regulations
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Review permit applications and construction plans for accuracy
- Conduct field tests on materials and structural integrity
- Prepare violation notices and ensure corrective actions
- Testify in code enforcement hearings as required
Qualifications
- Valid California Inspector Certification (ICBO or equivalent)
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience in municipal projects
- Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and OSHA standards
- Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift 50 lbs
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
