Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify compliance with engineering specifications, safety codes, and local ordinances
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve issues promptly
- Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure efficient resource utilization
- Investigate citizen complaints and recommend corrective actions
- Participate in emergency response for infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Valid Kentucky Professional Engineer (PE) or Inspector certification
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and construction protocols
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with variable weather conditions
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
