Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works projects including roads, bridges, and water systems
- Verify compliance with city codes, blueprints, and safety regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen concerns related to infrastructure issues
- Monitor project timelines and budget adherence
- Test materials and construction methods for quality assurance
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of construction inspection or project management experience
- Valid Kansas Class B Driver's License
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and standards
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in diverse outdoor environments and inclement weather
- Proficiency with inspection software and CAD tools
