Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects for compliance with city codes and specifications
- Review engineering plans and permit applications for accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Document violations and issue corrective action notices with clear timelines
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve inspection issues
- Maintain detailed inspection records and generate comprehensive compliance reports
- Participate in code enforcement hearings and provide expert testimony when required
- Stay updated on evolving municipal regulations and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License with clean driving record
- ICC Certification in Building Inspection or similar accreditation preferred
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and construction management software
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes and municipal regulations
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and traverse construction sites
