Responsibilities
- Process and administer SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF benefit applications
- Conduct eligibility verification and case management
- Provide client consultations and benefit counseling
- Generate monthly compliance reports for federal/state agencies
- Collaborate with community partners on outreach initiatives
- Maintain accurate electronic records in state systems
- Train new staff on benefit program protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Social Work, or related field
- 3+ years experience with government benefit programs
- Certified Benefits Counselor (CBC) preferred
- Proficient in Illinois Benefit Systems (IBS) and CMS databases
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Valid Illinois driver's license for occasional travel
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
