We seek a dedicated Public Works Inspector to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This vital role involves field inspections, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams to maintain Tampa's infrastructure excellence.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction sites, roads, and drainage systems
- Verify compliance with engineering plans and safety standards
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital records
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city officials
- Investigate citizen complaints regarding infrastructure concerns
- Assist in stormwater management and environmental compliance projects
- Train junior inspectors on proper protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3+ years of construction inspection or civil engineering experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- ICPI/ACI Inspector Certification required
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes and FDOT standards
- Proficiency in GIS software and digital reporting tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
