Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects for code compliance and safety standards
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for adherence to municipal regulations
- Document findings and generate detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and community stakeholders during project phases
- Investigate public complaints related to construction activities and code violations
- Maintain accurate project records and databases in accordance with city protocols
- Provide technical guidance to construction teams during on-site consultations
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or related field experience
- Valid California Inspector Certification (ICBO or equivalent)
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection documentation systems
- Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and local ordinances
- Excellent written communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred
