Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive zoning ordinances and general plan amendments
- Lead complex environmental review processes (CEQA/NEPA)
- Facilitate public hearings and community outreach initiatives
- Analyze development applications for compliance with municipal codes
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for City Council
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on infrastructure projects
- Maintain GIS mapping systems and demographic analysis
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of municipal planning experience
- Valid AICP certification required
- Advanced proficiency in ArcGIS and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated experience with CEQA documentation
- Strong public speaking and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of California land use law
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly desirable
