Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city engineering standards and safety regulations
- Review development plans and blueprints for technical accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Conduct field investigations for infrastructure complaints and damage assessments
- Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records and permit documentation
- Participate in public meetings to present inspection results and recommendations
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or field experience
- Valid Kansas driver's license and reliable transportation
- ICBO certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Strong knowledge of municipal construction codes and standards
- Proficiency with inspection software and GIS mapping tools
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
