Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Enforce city codes, ordinances, and safety standards through proactive field monitoring
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve compliance issues
- Review construction plans and permits for technical accuracy and regulatory alignment
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works projects and code violations
- Participate in the development of inspection procedures and policy improvements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or municipal compliance
- Valid Arizona Driver's License and ability to traverse construction sites safely
- ICBO/CBO certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Proficiency in reading construction blueprints and technical specifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and Arizona Revised Statutes
- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
