Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor in street maintenance, park upkeep, and facility repairs
- Operate light machinery (saws, jackhammers, sweepers) safely and efficiently
- Assist in emergency response during storms, fires, or other disasters
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and materials used
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
- Support sustainability initiatives through waste reduction and recycling practices
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction methods
- Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam
- Clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- Ability to obtain Class B driver's license within 6 months
- Experience in landscaping, construction, or public service preferred
