Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections for infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and utilities
- Verify construction compliance with city codes and engineering specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Manage permit processes and ensure timely project approvals
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities
- Assist in emergency response for infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in engineering or construction technology preferred
- Minimum 3 years experience in construction inspection or civil engineering
- Certification in construction inspection (e.g., NICET, ICC) required
- Proficient in CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and municipal regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
