Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes and engineering standards
- Review and approve development plans and permit applications
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate public complaints related to infrastructure issues
- Test materials and soil conditions for project specifications
- Prepare and maintain inspection records for legal compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid California Inspector Certification (CIT or equivalent)
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Strong knowledge of ICC and California Building Codes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and inspection software
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and traverse construction sites
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
