Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of major government IT initiatives, ensuring alignment with state and federal regulations.
- Analyze complex datasets to provide actionable insights for city planners and policymakers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative e-government solutions.
- Oversee vendor management and contract negotiations for external technology partners.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for digital infrastructure.
- Present technical findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, persuasive manner.
- Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a government or public sector environment.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale IT projects from conception to deployment.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state compliance standards (FISMA, HIPAA, etc.).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (Jira, MS Project).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the Denver metro area for site visits.
