Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of public works construction projects to ensure compliance with blueprints and regulations
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports using digital tools
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Verify materials and workmanship meet City of Fresno and state standards
- Issue stop-work orders when safety violations are detected
- Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning sessions
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for project audits
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience or equivalent education
- Valid California Inspector Certification (CIT/CTI) or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and construction specifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and California building codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
