Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including digging, trenching, and material handling
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters) under supervision
- Assist in road repair, drainage system maintenance, and park infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Participate in emergency response for weather-related public works incidents
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment inspection records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to operate hand/power tools
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
