Key Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations.
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment such as dump trucks, rollers, and loaders.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of municipal infrastructure, including sidewalks, curbs, and storm drains.
- Clear snow and ice from streets, sidewalks, and public walkways during winter months.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed for daily operations.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate project tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Michigan Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Basic knowledge of construction or public works equipment is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Must pass a physical examination and background check.
- Commitment to public service and attention to detail.
