Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and grounds maintenance
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, street sweepers) safely
- Assist in road repair, drainage systems, and snow removal operations
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain clean and organized work sites following OSHA standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for project efficiency
- Respond to emergency public works situations as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction/municipal labor experience preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification a plus
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and safety protocols
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
