Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks) for construction and maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, asphalt paving, and concrete work
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (roads, drainage systems, sidewalks)
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning and execution
- Maintain accurate records of work activities and materials used
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related infrastructure damage
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction or public works
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and best practices
- Clean driving record and background check clearance
- Basic math skills for material calculations
