Responsibilities
- Perform physical labor including excavation, paving, and infrastructure repairs
- Operate machinery like backhoes, jackhammers, and power tools safely
- Maintain roads, sidewalks, and public facilities to city standards
- Assist in emergency storm response and disaster recovery efforts
- Follow strict safety protocols and OSHA compliance guidelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public works projects
- Document work progress and maintain equipment in operational condition
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform strenuous physical activity
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety practices
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and work independently
- Previous construction or maintenance experience preferred
