Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, rollers) for road construction/maintenance
- Install and repair water/sewer lines, storm drains, and traffic control systems
- Perform site preparation, grading, and concrete/asphalt work
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on public infrastructure
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineering teams on project specifications
- Document work progress and material usage
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B)
- 3+ years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of CAD/blueprint reading
- Local residency preferred
