Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., backhoes, dump trucks) for construction/maintenance projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and pavement repair
- Maintain roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Assist in stormwater management and erosion control
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintenance
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project timelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- 1+ years construction/public works experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Class B CDL license or willingness to obtain
- OSHA 10-Hour certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
