Responsibilities
- Perform heavy physical labor including excavation, grading, and concrete work
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (e.g., jackhammers, asphalt cutters)
- Install and repair public infrastructure like sidewalks, drainage systems, and traffic signs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Participate in routine equipment maintenance and inventory checks
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in construction or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
