Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, graders, and paving equipment
- Perform manual labor tasks including trenching, grading, and concrete pouring
- Conduct routine maintenance on public facilities (sidewalks, drainage systems, parks)
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and departmental work standards
- Assist in emergency response during natural disasters or infrastructure failures
- Prepare and maintain accurate work documentation and daily logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience with hand/power tools and heavy machinery operation
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, humidity, rain)
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
