Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, trenching, and backfilling for infrastructure projects
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (bobcats, dump trucks, asphalt rollers) with proper safety protocols
- Install and repair public utilities including water mains, storm drains, and sewer lines
- Execute street maintenance tasks including pothole repairs, curb installations, and pavement markings
- Conduct routine inspections and report infrastructure defects or safety hazards
- Maintain clean and organized job sites while adhering to OSHA and city regulations
- Assist in emergency response operations during severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Maryland Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification preferred (training provided)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand/power tools
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal services preferred
