Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, paving, and equipment operation for municipal projects
- Operate heavy machinery (e.g., backhoes, dump trucks) under OSHA safety standards
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities and roadways
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with EPA and DC environmental regulations
- Document daily progress and materials usage using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction/public works experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic proficiency with hand/power tools
- High school diploma or equivalent
