Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain city-provided heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders)
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure repairs and construction projects
- Follow OSHA safety protocols using provided PPE and tools
- Assist in road maintenance, drainage systems, and public facility upkeep
- Collaborate with crew members to complete daily project objectives
- Report equipment issues to maintenance team promptly
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (training provided)
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction safety standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
