Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including street repairs, landscaping, and storm drain clearing
- Operate light equipment such as jackhammers, power saws, and trenchers under supervision
- Assist in construction projects including sidewalk installation, traffic signal maintenance, and park renovations
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs
- Support emergency response efforts during natural disasters or public safety incidents
- Adhere to strict safety protocols including proper PPE usage and traffic control procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety standards
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience with water systems or public facilities maintenance highly valued
