Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for street maintenance, including pothole repairs and striping
- Operate light machinery (sweepers, compactors) and hand tools safely
- Assist in park upkeep, landscaping, and irrigation system maintenance
- Support utility infrastructure projects and emergency response operations
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Participate in seasonal stormwater management and flood control initiatives
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment inspection records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment operation
- Ability to work in extreme heat and inclement weather conditions
- Preferred: 1+ years of public works or construction experience
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months of hire
