Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment safely (e.g., backhoes, dump trucks) with proper certifications
- Assist in emergency response during weather events (hurricanes, floods)
- Complete digital reports and documentation remotely using city-provided tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
- Participate in community outreach events as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Class B CDL license preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction/maintenance fields
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic computer skills for remote reporting (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
