Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, bulldozers) for infrastructure projects
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Conduct routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain clean, organized job sites
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors on complex municipal projects
- Assist in emergency response for public works incidents
- Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years construction or public works experience
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
