Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, and jackhammers under supervision
- Assist in construction projects including concrete pouring, asphalt repair, and landscaping
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain clean job sites per OSHA standards
- Respond to emergency weather events (floods, storms) for infrastructure repairs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on public improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Valid California Driver's License with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Flexible availability including weekends and emergency call-outs
