Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor in infrastructure maintenance, including road repair, drainage systems, and park facilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely (excavators, dump trucks, graders) with proper training
- Assist in construction projects including sidewalk installation, traffic signal maintenance, and bridge repairs
- Conduct routine inspections of public works assets and document findings
- Maintain clean and organized job sites following OSHA safety standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
- Participate in emergency response for severe weather events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Valid Ohio Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and power equipment operation
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
