Responsibilities
- Perform heavy manual labor including excavation, paving, and debris removal for municipal projects
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) with proper certification
- Assist in road repair, storm drain maintenance, and sidewalk rehabilitation
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA safety protocols and city regulations
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute infrastructure improvement plans
- Document work progress and material usage in digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school certification preferred
- Valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Clean background check and driving record
