Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repairs, drainage systems, and park facilities
- Operate heavy equipment safely (backhoes, graders, dump trucks) under supervision
- Assist in stormwater management and flood control projects
- Conduct daily inspections of public works sites and report hazards
- Support construction crews with material handling and site preparation
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years construction/public works experience
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of civil engineering principles
- Pass background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
