Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and paving operations
- Operate light equipment like jackhammers, saws, and trenchers
- Maintain and repair public infrastructure including roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and municipal regulations
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Support snow removal operations during winter months
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Alaska driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 1 year construction/labor experience preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tool operation
- Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to obtain required certifications within 90 days
