Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and landscaping for public infrastructure projects
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, power tools, dump trucks) under supervision
- Assist in road repair, sidewalk installation, and storm drain maintenance
- Conduct routine inspections of public facilities and report maintenance needs
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Participate in emergency response operations during severe weather events
- Maintain clean and organized job sites while properly handling materials and waste
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year construction/public works labor experience preferred
- Valid Nevada driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in extreme heat
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and safety equipment
- Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights/weekends for emergency response
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred or willingness to obtain
