Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and equipment operation
- Construct/repair sidewalks, streets, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate machinery safely (backhoes, dump trucks, jackhammers)
- Maintain parks, playgrounds, and municipal grounds
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and proper material handling
- Assist during emergency weather response (floods, ice storms)
- Complete daily maintenance logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather
- Basic mechanical aptitude and tool maintenance skills
- Experience with heavy equipment operation (backhoe, forklift)
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
