Responsibilities
- Execute road maintenance, drainage system installation, and public facility construction projects
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, and asphalt pavers under supervision
- Perform concrete work, grading, and utility trenching following OSHA standards
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety compliance checks
- Coordinate with engineers and subcontractors to ensure project timelines
- Maintain equipment and material inventory for efficient project delivery
- Participate in emergency response operations during weather events
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of construction or public works experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Experience with heavy machinery operation (excavator/backhoe certification)
- Knowledge of municipal construction codes and safety protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check mandatory
